I don't mind if you save my movies. As for Tim's movies, it might be good to email him, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind as well. They will continue to live on my site, so they'll always be there, and hopefully more is on the way.

I don't mind if you download and save my videos either. The purpose of posting them is to give everyone access to them. I plan on doing a lot more this year at Bensen Days and hopefully ROC in the fall. If anyone wants DVD copies of the Bensen Days stuff and more email me and let me know.

If anyone within the continental US wants a DVD send me $6.00 to cover shipping and material costs. In addition to the DVD with Bensen Days and some other gyro videos I'll include another DVD with some History Channel gyro stuff ("Ken Wallis", "The History of Helicopters" with some good early autogiro footage, and the "Tactical to Practical" episode with the AAI Sparrowhawk). You can send your $6.00 to my address below:
Tim Chick
4014 Transmitter Rd
Panama City, FL 32404
You can also send a paypal payment if you'd like. My paypal ID is tchick@bellsouth.net Please make sure you include your shipping address.
If anyone outside the US wants a copy please email me and I can check on shipping costs. The DVDs are NTSC and I don't have the resources to convert or burn them in any other format. Sorry.

Great cinematography both of you.
I have a very small clip of a foreign gyro doing a jump takeoff. I just went back and looked at it on my new computer and can now read that it is Uwe Hagar piloting. I don't know where I got it from, maybe Uwe. It's 1900KB in size.

Shawn, when you mounted the camera on the tail, did you just turn it on and leave it on, or do you have a remote that you used?

These are fantastic video clips.
I noticed that right-click downloads are prevented so I did a backend download of the videos. I will put them on the PRA Chapter 34 FTP site tonight. I will also add a link to this web page from the Chapter 34 web site.
Thanks for the great work!!

I am using mozillia.
I played 3 or 4 clips the last being the hawk 4. towards the end it royally crashed my computer and I had to reboot and run a system scan and repair a few things. I have had this problem before and I have had to open clips in IE. I much rather save link as and not open them in windows. System always gets spooky after that.

yeah, I just put a 60 minute tape in and let it run the entire flight. I have a remote, but no way to make sure the tape has actualy started or stopped.

Shawn and Tims videos are on the PRA Chapter 34 FTP server in the QuickTime Folder.
FTP Client highly recommended.

I have put a small video on-line with David Groen and Jim Mayfield explaining what a gyroplane is. It is only a rough cut, but it's a good explanation.

Very slick, Shawn. You've set the standard for gyro video!

Thanks Jerry. I have about 1 1/2 hours of Jim and David talking, along with a few Gyro CFIs. I will be interviewing many more people and shooting footage to support all the dialog. My goal of this documentary is to de-mistify the gyro and show it's history and safety aspects.

Well, as far as Tim Chicks videos are concerned, I would not feel right getting any cash from those. As for mine, do what ever you want. When my documentary is done, everything will be all in one large production and will be available to everyone in one way or another on DVD and National TV soon after.

I don't mind if people make copies of my videos. It may be a good idea to send Shawn donations to help him with cost of the bandwith. Shawn, do you have a paypal account?

Tim , can you and Shawn get these on the PRA sight. I would have loved to have seen these when I was looking for gyro information. The Manufactures might even have some made for the web page. Great work you guys. I have a collection of these and others, I watch all the time. I can't believe we don't have this already .....never mind if I'm not part of the solution , I must be part of the problem...lol

A few months ago I promised Ken J that I'd send him some 'mustering' footage.
I'v put it [bout 1 1/2 hours worth] on a regular vidio, but i remember someone say'n somewhere that the ozys and yanks use two incompatable vidoi systms.
Is that right or did I missunderstand??
birdy i'd like to get a copy of that also, if you got another one. let me know the cost. i love to watch gyros fly. thanks ben

Birdy, I believe your Australian TV system is PAL and ours in the US is NTSC. My friend has a multisystem VCR that can play PAL video tapes. Can you view the video clips on Shawn's website OK on your computer? Maybe the computers use the same standards for mpeg and quicktime videos. Do you know anyone that can put your videos on a computer and convert them to an mpeg video?

Friendly, It would be great to have some video clips of each gyro model on PRA's website. I remember seeing a sight a couple years ago that had photos and specs for all the different models but the link isn't any good anymore. I hope to get some better video this year at Bensen Days including closeups of the gyros, etc. Once I get that footage maybe we can see about getting it posted on PRA's site.

Got no idea wot your say'n Tim,but the hint is that this vidio tape won't be any use to Ken.Yes??
Maybe I'll just send it to Ken as is,then he'll know wot to do to see it,if he's still interested. :o

Birdy, If Ken can find someone with a multisystem VCR they can copy it to another tape in NTSC so he can watch it. It's not that hard to do. I say send it to him and if he needs help converting it he can contact me.

G'Day Shawn and Tim
Fellas, those video's are awesome. They are all excellent. Shawn I thought the high resolution pics on your site of Croman were great, NOW, my 4 year old son and 18 month old daughter need to get there daily fix of the Croman video..whilst singing in the loudest voices and it's always a contest as to who will be King and who will be Queen. Great stuff guys, good luck with the doco projects.

Hi Shawn,
The kids get a taste for flight early. My boy Jake (4yrs) has been up in Choppers and fixed wing, Mum wont let him go gyro till he's older. (She hates flying full stop.)
Shawn, I'm keen for you to talk me through the SH turn sequence video, I think a rudder turn then a control stick turn, both 180 degree. Looks great on the vid. The voice over comms is fine, just curious for your first hand explanation and impressions, if you don't mind. Thanks.
On forum or by email, rocksfly@dodo.com.au
Cheers,
Mitch
