What do these lists do?

In the User CP area you can add names to the Ignore List, which I assume means posts by those named will not show up. Is this correct?

If you add names to the Buddy list what happens?

"If you add names to the Buddy list what happens?"

They send you flowers and chocolates and invite you out to dinner and a movie.

Hey Ken, Thats cool.

If I put you on my buddy list who pays for the airfare for me to San Diego so You can take me to a movie. Or maybe it's you come here. Either way works for me. :D If you come here you can take both Tom Milton and I out to a movie. Good Buddy.... :p

Don't know why, but to be totally honest, I would like to know if I am on someones Ignore list. I consider everyone here a friend, And most of my posts I assume anyone and everyone can or might read. Knowing someone wants to ignore me impacts that slightly. Or at least it gives me a idea of who not to chat with at the fly ins....

So I ask that anyone who wants to put me on their Ignore list, please take the time to send me a email or PM to let me know. No harm, no foul...

OK Ron, for the heck of it I put you on my ignore list. In your reply to this thread it reads.

GyroRon: This user is on your Ignore List.

Thats all it says. So whatever you posted is not shown.

Excuse me now, but I have to take you back off the ignore list so I can read what you typed. :)

Now I took Ron back off the "ignore list" and I can read his entire post below. :)

Chuck, anyone that remembers Froggie the Gremlin and Smilin' Ed McConnel is probably so old that he'd forget what the dinner was and forget what the movie was about, so we should probably skip Tom. :D

I feel that everyone on this forum has value and it would seem to be a waste of resorces to put someone on the ignore list. It is my failing if I can't find the wisdom in everyone's post sometimes. Often the key to a solution can come from a different view rather than a more technical approach. I find great value in not having to make all of lifes mistakes because I can see how others have failed. Thank you, Vance

To see how the lists work I put Gyroron on my "Ignore List" and Kensandyeggo on my "Buddy List". Ron's posts did not show, but I didn't see any change with Ken's posts. I also tried Gyroron on the "Buddy List", but I didn't receive flowers and chocolates from Ken or Ron.

What is supposed to happen with the names on the "buddy" list?

Ken,

If you look at the top of the screen on the "Nav Bar", you'll see a link for "Quick Links".

Click on it, and select Open Buddy List.

A popup will appear showing which of you Buddies are online, and you can send them a PM while they are online.

Mike, Thanks. Now that I know what is does I'll take Ken J. off my Buddy List, since he never sent me any flowers or chocolates!

Hey, Counselor Holmes, what did we do to deserve a post from you, even though it was a dig at Gov. Arnold, me and our great State. Where you been and what have you been up to? Fill us in, buddy.
