My Xenon has SAVA 4.00 - 6 (14x4) tires. Does anyone know of a distributor on this side of the pond or recommend a replacement?

Thanks

Try Aircraft Spruce. I find replacement tires for my Calidus on the canadian site.

Aircraft Spruce said they do not have that size tire.

Try this, David. Got mine here.

The Aero Classic come in that size. That's what I got and they're great!

Thanks for the help but they don't have it either. Strike two!

Surely they are not just standard 400 x6 wheelbarrow tires??

We used to get the tires/wheels for the trike at this place. They have a lot of unusual size items in stock. The guy is 'ultralight friendly' too. Good luck, hope this helps....

Thanks Mark but he couldn't help either.

Here they are, don't know what shipping is, but perhaps you could call and see if they have a US distributor?

David,
Please remeber; If that size is hard to find now, keep in mind that it may be harder to find later.
You may want to find a suitable 'std.' replacement size. If AS doesn't want to play I would suggest Matco.
This suggestion assumes you are not using an A&P who wants the same replacement.

My nickel.

Apparently it's a common tire in Europe. The UK distributor e-mailed and said as far as he knew they were not available in the US but offered to ship. Oh well guess I'll pay the freight!

Dave -

I have the Desser Aero Classics on mine. They don't state the size the same way as Sava, but they are exactly the same size and I'd say much better quality.

What I ordered is "400-6 6 PLY AERO CLASSIC TIRE TT/TUBELESS" SKU: "400-6 6 PLY" and the tubes are "400-6 EXPERIMENTAL/GLIDER INNER TUBE" SKU: "TU 13/500-6"

I actually left the original on the nosewheel, since it had little wear. As it happens, I now have quite a few spare (unused) tires so let me know if you need some. Are you trying (needing) to replace these before Oshkosh/Mentone?

Peter,

I sent you an e-mail.
