I just had a converstion with one of the guys from the college here. They have a large laser cutter that they are moving to a new location and have set up a joint business with a small company. They intend to build custom projects. I had set this machine up for them at the college and the bed is very large so big parts can be produced. Bob told me that they will have it so aluminum parts can be cut as well as aircraft grade tubing and it will have a robot that will move parts to a welding table to be machine welded. They also intend to have a furnace to heat treat large parts. If you have a run of gyro parts they could put them on the computer and run as many as you needed and then store the program till a later date for more production.
This just seems like a good way for some of the small gyro producers to get their parts manufactured.
I will be following up on this when they go to move the macherinery. they also have a very large plastics press molding machine.
Will let you know more as it progresses.
