Does anybody know anything about the Victor 2 Simonini engine?
They claim 92HP with 114 lb weight. From Italy.

Hi Chris,
I was going to post my progress but all my pics were too big!
Carb should be installed this week along with the rotor brake.
Only need to order the prop and hook up the throttle and pre-rotator and she's ready for Gyro-Ronny to beat her into submission!
Shouldn't be long...I'm just gone for half of December each year so I'll finisher her up in 2009!

We've built one gyro with 2Plus Simon, one more is being built. Also gyros with Simon were built in Oz. From our experience and others' (fixed wings) reports these engines didn't show any bad habits though we still have no data about their real time between main overhaules.
Those engines I have info about don't show their stated power. For example our Simon showed 220-225 kg static thrust where R912ULS with similar prop showed 240-245 kg in the same gyro configuration.
One more pain is company's customer support. Our local dealer is weak and direct questions to factory aren't answered in details - just few words without prompt answers.
First two photos show our Simon-powered tandem. Third is a questionable contraption in Russian Far East which was flown a couple times but I hope it went to rebuilding after that due to obvious design problems. Haven't heard any news about it for ca. 2 years.

Looks to be adequate price - it is euro 5,800 at factory in Italy, if complete with engine mount, electrostart, gearbox. Less radiator and thermostat.
For me it worth it.
