Well the contraption flew. The basket case I bought, new airframe made from scratch, actually flew. I had the help of Rick Abercrombie, he taxied it and flew low over the runway a few times. At Covington airport, east of Atlanta, Ga.
We have some trim issues to work out, and the nose wheel steering doesn't jive with the rudder. Some stick shake, but the engine (65hp Arrow) ran well and seemed to make plenty of power. If we get some good weather later this week he may try it again.
If all goes well, I will bring it home and paint it and start doubling up on my training with Steve McGowan. Sure is a good feeling to see something you built actually fly!!
