This interesting thread featuring an early Swedish pioneer was posted by Giorgos scandtours (http://www.rotaryforum.com/forum/member.php?u=478) to the "Technical Papers, Books and Publications" sub section. It might fit better here and to make up for moving it I have added a brief clip showing Rolf von Bahr flying his C 30.

Autogiro Ambulance, Swedish C 30 flown by Rolf von Bahr, ca 1938 - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8JQZHCM6k0&feature=related)

Some more information on Rolf and his Cierva gyros can be found in the excellent book: "Les Autogires LeO C.30 & C.301" by Jacques Moulin

Giorgos thread is below:

Rolf von Bahr (1912-1988) owned and flew totally seven Cierva/Avro autogiros.

Thanks Juergen for correction. I don't know why it ended there and what I was thinking the time I was posting it.
Anyhow, I feel very privileged that I have met Rolf von Bahr in person and heard
first hand stories that not many know or written anywhere. How he surived a crash into the water in his Cierva autogiro after being shot down by Germans in the IIWW.
Little bit more info in Wikipedia.

One day I have to write all the stories he had told me.
Some more photos of Rolf with his gyros in Stockholm 1935 which were conscripted for military use. Rolf was the pilot.

Giorgos,

wonderful pictures! I hope you will find time to write down Rolf's story in the near future, from what I read in the french book they must make a great story.

Thanks for the interesting material,

Juergen
