Hold on now animal you never told us you had a RW 133 you would sell. I know some guys use them fixed wing things and they like it. What is the HP of the 133, air or H2O cooling?

yes brent I have the 133 engine out of this Scorpion,I have a Rw-162 carb engine in my scorpion project now, the 133 I have has 43 hrs. t.t.it is water cooled four cycle and has a dry weight of 165 lbs.133 h.p.It mounts vertically in the scorpion, but it is a dry sump oil system,so I am sure it can be mounted flat, just not sure how you would make an engine mount for it. the ones used in fixed wings that rotorway sold, was one they sold for a short time,I think may have had a differant case. the helicopter engine when mounted in the scorpion has a round end that sits down in a rubber doenut in a cradle mount, then the top pulley has a bracket with a bearing on it that mounts to the frame and has a belt tensioner to tighten the drive belts.
The early vulcan v-4 ( modified evinrude outboard engine ) had a bearing that mounted to a swing arm, that when you engaged the clutch, would tilt the whole engine forwards to tighten the belts.
Scorpions are makeing a big comeback, and updated ones are bringing upwards of $33,900. as soon as I sell this 133 engine I am going to buy some more machine tools and make a converion to do away with that cable rotorhead, and do it cheaper then what the elastomeric system costs, last time I check that upgrade was about $8,000. anyway as I am building this helicopter I will keep yall informed. I tryed to upload some pics of it,but it didn't work, oh well.
Sounds good. let me see if I can muster up some money after Christmas and may look at your 133 engine. I live close to you animal in NC, Morganton to be exact. I n reference to your update to the rotor system I have thought about doing away with my cable link system and its not that hard to do. You can remove the bolt in the swash plate so it will slide up and down, remove the push pull rods to the swash plate and replace with push -pull cable like in the exec. Will have to modify the rotor head so it will only teether and place a push-pull cable from your collective to the swash plate for collective and you are on your way. I have thought about it for a while and its really not that hard. I found a site that supplies aircraft cable (push-pull) and they are not that expensive. I would love to have the 133 engine but not sure if I can raise that much money at christmas time. Most of the time I have to do things the hard way if you now what I mean! Have more mechanical skills than money some times.
