hey guys just met a guy online in yahoo that is involved with this design,it look pretty good, they have flown it to tree top heights so far, could be interesting to see how this one developes.
here is the link to the page.

Hi, that look pretty nice, interesting.
Did you talk about real flights or is it again "confidential " ?
What's that self-centering rotor ?
thanks

I live in that 910 AO and will call them and see if I can go see it fly. No photos of it flying on the web. Fixed pitch blades ? must have overriding sprag gear. So it can auto in. May bethis can be the pre-rotator we need?

Fixed pitch helicopter = no autorotation capability, period. Bad enough to me on something like the Eagle's Perch twin engine setup, suicidal on this.
No thanks, I'd like to live a bit longer!

Have to agree with their website. That "thing" sets me on edge. I doubt they mean the same thing I do.And I thought the Mini-500 was as low as you could go. Do they sell life insurance with that?

You'd better go with a Mosquito before being bitten!

OK if the blades can spin free of the gearbox after the motor stops why can't it autorotation? my gyro can. The gyro with the H2O2 rockets took off and flew with fixed blades. What am I missing?

A helicopter with fixed pitch blades can autorotate. If the pitch is set at +3 degrees or less and you can fully disengage the rotor system then it will autorotate but you would have to do a slide landing. Without collective to cushion you would basically land it like your gyro with a full flare but you would not be able to pull off a full stop, not only because of no collective but because you are still robbing some power from the rotor system to run the tail rotor and using the tail rotor will decay rotor speed because of the light inertia of the super light rotor system and light blade loading.

Thanks David. This set up is what we are thinking of doing. They have a 440cc motor. I think a 20- 25hp would do it and use a big rudder to keep the torque from spinning you around.

Well I would agree on the 15 to 20 hp motor for prerotation, but a big rudder would not do it as you lift. Bensen did 25hp but he says after 15hp you have to have a head that you can set at zero, then when you reach rpm the head would then immediately reset to the proper blade pitch for flight that in turn would leap the aircraft off the ground and you could keep the engine engaged, tail low nose high hover using the thrust off the propellor over the rudder to keep it in a hover then fly out of it. He also said it requires quite a bit of skill but it is manageble. Me I am thinking 15hp should give me just enough to make the wheels dance around and let me take off in the length of the gyro. I would be more than happy with that.

I have to agree with ya on this one, the guy I talked to in the chat room told me that they will have a ballistic chute with the kits..yeah lot of good that will do. no thanks I will stick with my scorpion. at least the eagle's perch. formily Nolan brothers helicopter had 2 engines
I would like to see a pic of that thing flying.
