A small helicopter crashed today on the roof of a downtown skyscraper
while trying to make an emergency landing, authorities said.

Two men aboard the privately owned aircraft were uninjured in the 10 a.m.
crash. The cause remained under investigation.

The two-seat Robinson R-22 was badly damaged when it crashed next to the
helipad atop the 54-story Wells Fargo building, city Fire Department
spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

There was no fire, and no debris fell from the building, Humphrey said.

The National Transportation Safety Board was investigating.

These guys (and others) were really lucky. If they had landed (crashed) near the edge of the building, can you imagine the certian damage, injuries, deaths to others, and certain death to the pilots by falling 54 stories to the ground? Very lucky!
