What a spectacular day of flying we had today!

Perfect weather and off the ground by 7:15 am. Three gyros off together with me in the lead in my instructor's modified RAF. Climb to 1500 feet for the short hop across the water to Bribie Island (Australia).

Then along the deserted beach at 300 feet looking at manta rays and giant jelly fish underneath us as the blue waters of the coral sea crashed on the beach below.

Finally back to the mainland and fly a circle around the volcanic peaks of the glass house mountains before returning to the airport for a few touch and go's.

My instructor was a passenger for the entire flight and I felt completley competent in all phases of the flight.

How wonderful it is!

Sounds wonderful, Rob. I have a strange feeling telling me that we are going to see you fly into 3V5 one of these days...

That sounds really great! My brother & I were just talking about how much fun it would be to fly along the beach, especially there. I am jealous.

Udi,

I am making my plane reservations to Colorado today. Will be in Denver in late Feb and will plan a trip up to 3V5 (Downtown Ft. Collins) then. It will be a Cessna this trip but I am schedule to go to AAI in March to finish my rotorcraft rating.
