Wel I got the engine running, here are a few pics of the progress.
the wiring harness is sloppy because it will be coming off for paint, then it will be tidied up.

Looking good. One thing that concerns me is the front tire. I think a smooth tread would be best as the knobby may kick up junk into the prop and radiator. Also not fond of shoulder belts attached to the mast..... But other wise looking good and you will probably have enough power out of that engine to scare the crap out of anyone brave enough to floor it!

Ron, I did not want a Knobby tire, but that is all the had for a 12 inch rim, maybee I should check on a smooth tread baby stroller tire! LOL.
I got the prop mounted, hopefully I can break in the engine this weekend, one of the fuel pumps leaks, minor stuff, but getting close.

Looks good, I love the way Shovels sound.
I hooked up the EGT probe stuff today but the wires are too short, I need to see how much I can lengthen them without messing up the readings.
I can't wait to start painting it. Then flying of course!

I ran the engine today with the prop on, I could not get over 4000 rpm as the engine started blubbering, It is jetted to rich, So I just ordered 7 sizes of jets to get it dialed in. It does sound good!
I also adjusted the pitch on the prop a few times all the way to about only 6 degrees, So I believe it is the jetting, I looked it up on the jet chart and it shows that right now I am jetted for temps of 0-20 degrees F.

When it gets over 4000 you will see that pipe kick in get ready for wax on wax off or is it power on power off. not bad if you can per rotate I had a hard time with it and hand jobbing the blades. Fun Fun Joy Joy.

Maybe you just need more practice with "Hand Jobbing" Brent. Do I need to get Ron to show you again?
