Warp Drive vs Ivo

Have any of you ever run a 3 blade Warp Drive and a 2 blade medium Ivo on the same machine?

If anyone has, especially on a light weight machine, I would appreciate a comparison between the two.

I am asking because a gyro pilot in our club, with many hours in several different machines, recommended the Ivo to replace my 60" W D on a 618 Dominator single.

Hello Chuck...several years ago before I converted my KB3 I used both a 3 blade Warp Drive and 3 blade Ivo, both 60". I didn't notice any difference in thrust, however be careful about your clearances. The Ivo will flex more than the Warp Drive so make sure you have plenty of room. I'd be hard pressed to believe a 2 blade Ivo would be equilavent to a 3 blade Warp drive if they're both the same diameter.

Thank you for your reply. Also, it was good running into you three or four months ago in Searcy.

Richard, do you know if the Ivo you had experience with was the Medium or the Light? I ask because there is a Weedhopper that shares the hanger I use that has a three blade Ivo. I haven't measured them, but the blades are very narrow and quite flexible.

By contrast, the Ivo Medium has a blade width of roughly 4 1/2" as compared to roughly 3 5/8" with the Warp Drive.

Chuck, I'm pretty sure the Ivo's I used were the light version. I don't have any experience with the larger version.
