Yes that is how cold it was today. Even worse was there was a slight mist - it has since been pouring cats and dogs tonight... - But it has been a week or two since I last flew the gyro so I dragged it out and fired it up to buzz around a while. Here is some shots

1. Here she is Warming up - I have a clutch in the gearbox, don't walk away from a gyro when the engine is running, I should not walk away from mine even with the clutch. Shame on me!

2. Warmed up and ready to go

3. View over the windshield ready to depart runway 4

4. Same view only through the windshield

1. here is a grass-dirt strip about a mile from Goose Creek. Very short and not exactly straight either! The brown dirt trail that looks like a road is the runway! There is a Cessna 170, a AG plane, a Piper Tri Pacer and a few other birds there on the ground. So it isn't impossible to get in and out, but not for the faint of heart!

2 and 3. more views of this strip.

4. McDonalds up the street from Goose Creek, My favorite place for lunch!

Oh just thought of something.... You know how the Rotax 582 has a rep for burning alot of fuel? Well look at the first picture I posted and then the last two. This is before and after. I was up for exactly 30 minutes. I think I used maybe a gallon of fuel tops in 30 minutes! This engine is great on fuel if you keep the speed and rpm down. Cruise around 60 mph at about 5400 rpm.
