"Double Rainbow windshields"
Does this mean you see multi-colored streaks when you look through them?
.
Greg, I assume your now using some sort of brushless motor?? I just lacated one through hobby king that is 9hp and fits in the palm of your hand. they also sell the ESC for them as well and pretty reasonable prices.
Anyway do you notice it trying to torque you as you reach full rotor RPM?

G'Day gyro,
You can find details on the site www.thebutterflyllc.com
I've not spun that pre-rotator up but if its anything like The MLS on the Monarch, then yes you notice the torque all through the range. especially if you are a little untidy with advancing the throttle.
Larry upgrades the head plates and stiffens the mast when a Metro Launch System is installed.
A std Turbo Golden has twin 1.4 hp (2.8 hp total) electric pre rotator, the upgrade to Metro Launch System (MLS) Pre-rotator Electric 10 hp, spins blades to full flight speed.

Man, that does spin up the blades.... very impressive for a big rotor system, using electric power.
I would love to see a video of the actual takeoff....

I like it...!
That is an amazing amount of torque.
I can see myself putting a system like that to really good use.
Can that setup be sold piece meal...?
M-M.

Mike,
Sorry but Larry will not sell separate Butterfly components to anyone other than customers that have bought a complete Butterfly kit. I guess he feels like if you want to enjoy the benefits of the cutting edge Butterfly systems he is developing, he wants you to buy a Butterfly machine and help support the company so he can keep developing more cool systems.

Miss you to Bro, when you comming this way for a visit?
I'll be in the US/Canada next July August 2012, will you be about then?
As for Goldens in Aus. Cant say for sure. Do have one fella local to north western Australia. Thinks the Golden will suit his needs. Another is a US fella married to an Aussie girl is bringing a Golden with him when comes down under to retire next year. He'll be up in Queensland a long way from me. So could be two Goldens in the future. Will wait and see. know soon enough
Alas, there are is no Golden in my future, unless my numbers come in.
Cheers,
Mitch
