Hello all,
I made a DVD about my Gyrobee about a year and half ago. I think anyone that wants to see a Bee fly will enjoy it. I know I wished there was more video available when I was thinking about building mine.
I will need to charge $10.00 for materials and shipping, but I'm sure you would agree that at that price this video is a real good deal.
If you’re interested E-mail me to let me know. I will send you my address to receive your check.
Thanks
Norton

Hi Gyrobee fans!! I have also been working on a DVD documentary of my Gyrobee. A walk-through of its features and some flight demos showing just how this neat little gem flys. I'm still trying to get some nice weather to get some final aerial footage. I'm still a little hap-hazard with this new editing software ,but things are coming along. As Norton stated, it sure woulda been nice to have had ANYTHING to look at during my building process. I had not even seen a gyro fly in person until the day I flew mine! If anyone is interested let me know! :)

When Don and I were building the original Bee, the only video I had was the promotional tape from Dennis Fetters at Air Command. I think we essentially wore it out during construction!

I have seen Norton's DVD and it is both fun and inspiring. I also would love to see Dale's when it is done.

I think I wore Doug's EAR off during my construction!!! :D. Every piece of his advice was right on the money.

Is the Norton dvd flying, building, or both?

The DVD is a history of my machine without going into detail. It is more a form of entertainment with great footage of takeoffs, flying, landings, and in flight video. There are music backgrounds. This is not a training, or building video, it is more inspirational then anything else. It is just one man’s story.

I'll take one. I'll shoot you an email later today. Can you post a couple of pix of your Bee so we can get a taste of what we'll be seeing? Thanks!

I know Ralph's site well. I'm building a Bee myself at the moment. I just wondered if there was a photo of yours lurking around somewhere.

Brian,

Check out the last link on Norton's list - it is his page in my COMPLETIONS section and has quite a few pictures.

Ahhh. Thanks Ralph. I remember it now. In fact, the 2'nd to last photo is on StarBee's front page. The tail art is nice too.

Cheers,

Hey folks,
I ordered Norm's DVD and LOVE it! It is great quality and just good video.
It has a lot of takeoffs and landings , close enough that you can actually see them. The flights use good ground reference in the view too. I am very pleased with it, and the price.

I love to watch flying aircraft. I am a retired crop duster pilot, but will still pull over to watch one working.

Thanks Norm

Hey Ralph,

Who was it that had a pre-rotator made from a lawnmower re-wind starter? Didn't the gyro with it on get stolen? Anyone have any drawings on this pre-rotator system?

Thanks,

BarryK

The GyroTech guys developed one for their Honeybee. The prototype was on Jim Norcia's machine, which was lost when someone stole his entire enclosed trailer. The gyro has never surfaced! The system was modified from the recoil starter for a Rotax....

How about a video section on the forum that lists the different videos and DVDs the forum members have available?

I second. However, I wouldn't link directly to the video files as it's considered "bandwidth stealing" and not proper net ethics. But a link to the pages on various sites where the video links appear would be most helpful. Just today a gentleman I work with became interested in Gyros once he saw my office "decor" :D . Video links would serve a need in the introductory department for sure. Dan Leslie's "Getting Started" video comes to mind.

Regarding my co-worker, I'll start a new thread to get some useful feedback.

Brian Jackson
