You don't want to know the price Birdy. Would take nine decks of cattle and the MF to pay for it.

Hi guys

Bombardier does not like their 120º V-6 called a Rotax. They have spun off a separate company to build it: www.vaircraftengine.com.

It's designed to run on 91 octane unleaded, but can be run on 100LL. There are 220 and 300 HP versions in development. They're flying it in a Murphy Rebel (maybe a Super Rebel or Moose -- it's a pretty big plane, and I don't know the Murphy line perfectly) and maybe some other aircraft.

cheers

Kevin,
Honestly I don't see this kind of (costy) engine come to the gyro whole market.
It is a wonderful piece of engineering for classical FW, helicopters, as i said, i just would have the half of one.

I may be wrong, but the rotary ring would expect engines to become lighter, more powerful while cheaper and more reliable..
Why not a poll ?
Thanks

At over 400 pound I would go with a 4.3 GMC.

I am quite sure one can buy a helicopter kit just for the price of those six cylinders.
Already today a complete 914 turbo cost close to 25000 euro including the bits and pieces with taxes over here.
This is only an old 4 cylinder with a couple of old carbs and a simple 500 dollar garrett t2 turbo.
Imagine the six cylinder where the target is not ultralight or homebuild!!!

Right Jos... a v6 300 hp for what use in a single or 2 seat gyro ? meaning you could have a gyro stong enough to endure that !
The suzuki or yamaha 100 hp engines look very attractive to me...
