Here is a video (local TV report): http://centre.france3.fr/info/rosnay-36--crash-d-un-ulm-68216236.html?onglet=videos&id-video=ORLE_1394078_040420110836_F3
I don't understand French but a man in black jacket looks to be a witness describing what he saw and heard. Anybody with French language?

My condolences. It's very sad.

EDIT: Partial translation...
A microlight pilot died Saturday night in the vicinity of Rosnay in Indre.
His aircraft was found in a field near homes. It is the Mayor of the commune who first gave the alert. He was in the company of his son when the explosion occurred around 8: 00 pm. By lifting eyes, he saw the aircraft fell in flare.
The shock was of extreme violence and it took almost three hours to the rescue to find the body which was thrown 300 metres from the place of impact of the Ulm.
The pilot, a 56-year-old man, was experienced. Originally from Seine-et-Marne, it had taken off at 6 pm Sully sur Loire in the Loiret.
The circumstances of the accident remain to be determined.

Sad news. Condolances to family and friends.
Falling like a flare, sounds odd. Explosion then falling like a flare/airborne fire.
Wonder if the French authorities are anything like the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch.

From the looks of the wreckage there dosent appear to have been any fire and the way the prop tip are broken looks like it was still running when it went down very sad

Ow!!!!!!!!
Poor bugger. :(
Cant see any soot from a fire, but that dont mean there wasnt one.
The only prop blade you see dont look like an 'active' strike. More like it got broke on impact.
300m from the wreck??
Either he bailed [ fire] or fell out???
Wot time dose the sun set over there?
Either way, not good. :(

The only prop blade you see dont look like an 'active' strike.(
All three prop blades can be seen there and they look equally damaged. I'd said they were broken while working. And there is a shot where one rotor blade is seen which seems like it was hit by prop (at 0'42"). I cannot see any signs of fire.
Anyway very sad. Here is a thread about this at French gyro forum: http://autogire.xooit.fr/t958-crash-autogire-a-Rosnay.htm but there is no additional factual info there yet.

From the looks where the policemen search for parts of the gyro and and the police helicopter hovered it could have been a collision with the high voltage electric wires which sounds reasonable when at sunset flying against the sun.
The same happened to a flight instructor in Spain with a MT03 some 2 years ago.
Very sad ....................

The body has been found 300m from the impact point!
Anyway, keep your seat belt fastened until the aircraft has completely stopped!
Check seat belts anchor points.

Very sad. Loss in our community is heartfelt.
Hope they find the cause/s.
Once I saw a gyro with declared bird hit in flight.
Later found that the bird was sitting on a tree......

Hello,
Sad news indeed. About the translation, "tomber en torche" doesn't necessarily mean on fire.. It can also mean "falling in a spiral.." Look at his hand movement when he says that.. It confirms that meaning, rather than a fire. The pilot is said to have been expericenced, and had a company that offered "discovery flights" in gyros.

Hello,
An investigation report is underway (French safety board).
According to several sources, it would appear to be a suicide (depression). TBC
If so, strange way to pass away … and dangerous to others.
Anyway, hope he rests in peace now.
Fly safe

Talking to a friend that is fluent in french, the idea of suicide came up. He could not be thrown that far from the wreckage.
