I have a question for about a Rotax redrive. I order a C drive from CPS. In the instructions it calls for Loctite Anti-Seize 76710 to be applied to the bearing seats and toothing on the pinion shaft.
It is marked as included in the package but it's not here.
I don't want to wait a week for shipping, is there something else I can use that would be acceptable?
Thanks, Phil

I would think any brand of anti-seize would work. NAPA sells it. Anytime I put steel next to aluminum, that's what I use. Loctite might be a better brand, but I think it might just be preference.

I am not sure exactly which locktite that part number is, but you should be able to find red, blue and green locktite (numbers 270 or 272) at most hardware stores or a marine store if you are near the coast anywhere.

Whoa, Rob.
Those are thread locking compounds!
Loctite 767 is an anti-sieze compound. According to the home website at:
http://www.loctite.com.au/industrial/PRODUCTS/767.htm
it is an Australian sold product.
In the U.S., Loctite makes a nickel based anti-seize compound. It's just called Nickel Anti-Seize:

I have also used the C5-AŽ Copper Based Anti-Seize as an aerosol, and it works well:

But I agree with Larry, I don't think it's all that critical. I would take whatever was at the NAPA store myself.

Thanks Guys, We just happen to have a NAPA store here in this very small town I live in.
Thanks again, Phil

Just a little suggestion. Use it sparingly. I use a Q-tip and put a light even film on. With spark plugs or bolts, I put a little into the threads. A bunch makes a mess and isn't necessary.

Could not find the Brand Loctite or the Nickel version there of but did find Permatex Copper Anti-Seize Lubericant. I am told it's the same stuff as the Loctite just the NAPA version, so this is what I'm going to use. If this is not right let me know, I appreciate the help guys.

Phil,
The Permatex Copper anti-seize should be fine.
All the "C" boxes that I have bought have already had this applied to those areas, which is quite evident when you dissamble it for installation. (looks like a thin film of coppery coloured grease).

Tim,
I finished the motor mounts tonight and will mount the 618 tomorrow. I should get to the redrive also. I will look for the Anti-Seize when I break it down for installation. Thanks for your input.
