Hi,
my name is Manuel and this is my first post!
I'd like to know the weight of the SH referring to the pictures I've attached,i.e. the naked frame and the frame with landing gear.Firther,I'd like to know the measures of the aluminum prophile, both of the frame and of the mast;height, width, thickness and the type of aluminun that is used!
Thank in advance

Hi Manuel,

I will try to answer your questions.

I never weighed it at that point. The empty weight is 890lb. (That number includes all fluids up to unusable fuel.)

Firther,I'd like to know the measures of the aluminum prophile, both of the frame and of the mast;height, width, thickness and the type of aluminun that is used!
The frame is just a little under 10 feet in length. The mast is at a heigth of about 8 feet if you set the keel flat on the floor. For the exact type of material that is used you would need to contact the aviation engineering folks at Groen Brothers Aviation. The parts I received in my kits don't tell me the type of aluminum. I think you would have to contact them for all the sizes also.

I believe that most of the aluminum used in gyro production is 6061 T6. I believe the 6061 represents the purity of the metal and the T6 is the point at which heat critically affects it (but I'm no engineer, I just heard that and somebody please correct me if I am wrong on this). But do check with the manufacture of your kit.
