Just to clarify, there is never been confirmed that big snakes attack humans.They could easily but no report has been confirmed till today.
The only known serpent to pursue humans when inside their territory is the Mamba in Africa.
One other thing: big snakes only feed a few times a year, the process is long and they have to expel the remains (bones, fur, etc) it takes weeks till they go hungry again.
