Hi

I am researching the Xenon fleet.

I am aware of two Xenon gyros in Hungary, registrations

A11XEN

A24XEN

both have been seen at Meidl, Hungary.

Do you know of any other Xenons operating in Hungary ?

Do you know the construction number ( c/n ) of the above two Xenons please ?

Thanks

Steve

Steve you need to talk to the Austrian owners about them. The place is really called Fertőszentmiklós. All of those are owned by either German or Austrian citizens as it is almost impossible for Hungarians to own an experimental aircraft. I hope this info helps. I am sure Dr. Troedhan (Angelo here on the forum) can give you more info if you ask him nicely :)
Cheers

Hi

Thanks for that info - hopefully more feedback will follow.

Would the Xenon be "experimental" in Hungary ? In the USA, Yes.

Steve that is the problem over there they have no category for them. Hungarian aviation regs are very rigid and don't allow anything to enter the arena of the big guys! Well of course I am not up to date on their regs but it used to be impossible to own anything less then certified.

Hi

Research shows that these registrations are issued by the ASC - Aero Sports Connections - I had assumed they were issued by either the Hungarian or Austrian CAA/FAA offices.

see

for more info if interested.

Aero Sports Connections has nothing to do with exemptions for our aircraft. The only exemption they have are for 2-place Unpowered ultralights. Such as 2 place hang gliders.

Hi Steve !

Actually we have 3 XENONs at our airbase in Hungary and they are registered in Czechia (OK-xxxx) for various reasons. (to tell the whole story why would take too much time ......)

I will be at the airport earliest in 1 month again (too much f....... biz, keeps me away from flying  ) and ask Hans and Frank if they are willing to reveal their serials.

Legal situation about registration in Austria/Hungary is still an unsolved riddle because of buerocratic "hair-splitters" and a strong opposition from fixed-wing flight schools since they lost too many students to the gyro-fraction .... :whoo:

Hi Angelo,

Thanks for that info.

Hopefully one day the various European aviation authorities will act more in unison - we have Xenons registered locally with national aviation authorities in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Turkey, Ireland and the Czech Rep - hopefullyy one day Austria ( OE-..... ) and Hungary ( HA-...... ) will join the same party!

I would guess that your Czech Xenons may include

OK-NWA-02
OK-NWA-05
OK-NWA-06

I saw a photo of another new Czech Xenon recently OK-PWA-02.

Hi Steve ! Those numbers sound familiar to me (cause I always call them "OKINAWA" by the Japanese city) but honestly, I have to check to reconfirm ......

Will report as soon as I know for sure .........
