Gday.
I managed to take some snaps left handed, which is very difficult, when cameras are made right handed.
Which of course means that I have to now learn how to fly left handed.

Ok Dewie, where are the pics!!!! Thanks for putting the fill in the holes at the hanger door. Daylight savings now, so you will wear that thing out. Dave has had some problems with his 582!!
I have a student with his gyro from east of Canberra and will be there every day.

Dewie, pix must be under 150K in size to work. See if your camera came with software which allows compressing file size.

....once you get the engine tacho cailbrated all will look great on the panel. ;)
Graeme, were the 2 powerchutes still flying when you got there?
I had to rush home for an Aeroclub committee meeting, as they were setting up.
I bet you got a surprise when you looked in the hanger!!!!Another gyro. They seem to be breeding!!!!
The one I trailered down yesterday is the one from Broken Hill that I modified.
Talk about stable compared to before the mods. :D The owner, Bill, is coming next week to take it home. He will be thrilled at "feel" of the stability. :D
It has AK rotors and Bill said that I can use them on Hybrid for a comparison.

Good Pics Dewie.
Over many years I've only been once attacked by an eagle, and that was in mating season. Guess I'm not that pretty
They seem pretty happy to accept us as another bird in the thermal if you circle with them and usually keep position opposite and slightly behind. I'm amazed that the noise doesn't bother them.

Well it finally happened after 550 hours of hard work. :( 'old faithful Hirth gearbox started losing the hard facing off a few of the teeth of the small drive gear. I noticed a strange noise as we taxied in from a 30 min flight. Pushing the ej-22 130 hp into the 110 hp Hirth gearbox was always pushing the limit.
I have never layed a spanner on it other than the occasional oil change, but these things always happen when I am busy, and not when the gyro is resting in the hanger!!!
I have students come from all over Oz, and the world for that matter, and I do not like to let them down, so I keep spares of pretty well everything for such an occasion.
We removed the engine and gearbox, and came home and loaded the 120hp ej-20 with a Sub4 gearbox fitted, that I flew to Alice Springs last Easter. We will bolt that combination on to Hybrid tomorrow morning, and should be flying by midday. Less than 24 hours out of the air is not a bad turn around.
I thought today was going to be an easier one with some flying and some navigation class room stuff. ;) 'had no intentions of getting my hands dirty!!! :D

Hello All.
Teesdale sporting complex have the contract for cleaning up at the Meredith festival each year as a fund raiser for our sporting clubs and we (or I should say my wife ) put our names in to do our bit. But first thing in the morning I took a few photos from the air . Then I followed the Leigh river down to Shelford then back to home. About a one hour flight. :)

... you are making me feel a little homesick!!!!!
I arrived today back down in Margaret River in WA, and spent 20 mins solo and over an hour training in the magnificent Magni. :D
Now!!!!! here is a company that has got it right!!!!! Not a mustering machine though Birdy. ;)
I have only flown one other gyro that comes close to the stability of a Magni, and it is not what I flew to Alice Springs!!!!
More Magni reports will come. :)

Hello all,
Had a offer to try some 25' Goodwin blades while I am waiting for a new hub bar on my Larkin blades. Not being slow to say yes I was away ASAP. They are chalk and cheese!!!! The Goodwin blade is nearly 10 knots faster at the same engine rpm and the rotor speed is 30rpm faster. All very interesting to a newbie.
I also fitted up a new tail rudder assembly (you have to do some thing when you are grounded.)

Hello all
Have been sitting on the side lines of late due to reasons I will not start up again. I have some photos of planes that were in the Great Air Rally at their over night stay at Lethbridge Air Park. All these people around when I was trying to get some servicing done on the mighty gyro!!!.
Any how, very impressive to see all these planes at our little aero club.
This weekend (long weekend) we are holding a gyro fly-in for the Rotorcraft Assn of Victoria and I will post some photos of same next week.

Hi All
Well the Anzac day long week end fly-in held at Lethbridge Air Park by the Rotorcraft Association of Victoria has come and gone.
Saturday was fine and clear with five gyros turning up, with four going on a cross country to one of the closer lakes in the area. A really good day was had by all.
Sunday was very windy indeed, but there were eight gyros present. Some good looking bloke cooked pan cakes for breakfast which went down very will. During the day there was only circuits? being conducted because it was far too windy to go far, so a lot of time was spent picking one an others crafts to bits!
Then by late afternoon when it became apparent that the wind was not going to drop off, everyone was up playing in the wind. It was fantastic to see so many flying at once when it was to rough for the fixed wing boys.
I was not able to be present on Monday, which I think turned out a better day weather wise, so maybe someone else will give a report on the Monday.

Hello Tim
Yes I am up in the air again.
Larkin blades are no longer made as Larkin has retired, Goodwin blades are I believe only available in extruded now. Both very good blades.
Sitting on the side lines was referring to postings Tim not flying.
