I bought a benson project that is basicly completed. no engine or rotors. I have a 582 rotax I can put on it but i'm not sure what i need to modify to get it to fit and stay within the CLT to keep it safe. Don
Hi Don
Essentiallly you need to turn it into a "Sparrow" or the like. You could use a different tail style but a good " T " tail with a 2 piece vert stab would be good also. It will for sure require a drop keel.

Depending on your weight you could do a short prop installation which wouldn't require doing a drop keel, etc. You'd have to use a short prop (52") and change the gears in the gear box to 2:1 gears. Also if it doesn't have a horizontal stabilizer (not the rock guard) on the tail you can do a t-tail stab.

Hi Don,
Based on your occupation , I would go with a dropped Keel. Do a web search, it is an easy conversion.

I think I'll drop the keel six inches and extend the mast four inches that should give me enought room for a 60 inch prop.
