One of our newer members has PM'ed me with regard to my confrontational style concerning RAF. I am sure that the member means well and is suggesting that we can reason with RAf and they will start to see the errors of their ways.

I can't remember how many people there have been who feel exactly like this person does, however after twelve years of watching RAF's response to people such as myself posting very damning statements about their methods of doing business nothing changes.

I went to my file on RAF, which is extensive and pulled a letter from RAF's solicitors dated May 25, 1993.

Here it is exactly as written..

Re: Rotary Airforce Inc.

As solicitors for Rotary Airforce Inc. , it has come to our attention that you have been giving out incorrect information concerning that corporation.

Unless you cease and desist from giving out uch incorrect information, or any information concerning Rotary Airforce Inc. , we will take whatever steps we deem necessary to obtain the legal remedies available, including obtaining damages accruing as a result of the information you are providing.

Yours truly,

Baker & Purdon

( Barristers & Soliciters )

I still have fourteen names of people here in Canada who started to put together a class action lawsuit against RAF based on the dishonest business practices that they were victims of having bought RAF 2000's during the time frame in which that letter was sent to me.

I responded to RAF to go ahead and sue me, they never followed through.

I did however have the opportunity to appear as a witness for the Civil Aviation Tribunal.

I have in front of me the Subponea commanding me to appear to testify with regard to charges against RAF on the 6th. day of April 1993 in Kindersly Sask.

RAF was found guilty of falsification of legal documents.

Don LaFleur testified for RAF and also for Dan Haseloh, his testimony was not believed by the tribunal.

My testimony was found to be truthful.....

Anyone who thinks that you can reason with RAF is sadly mistaken.

Hey! I have one of those letters too! Who else is in this very exclusive club of "threatees" of RAF?

Man oh man... The more I learn about RAF the more they remind me of $cientology; threats and suits against anyone whom speaks out against them. I've never been a follower of either, but in my "activist" days I received a similar letter from Scieno-Lawyers, and it sounds like RAF is using that same "thug" mentality. Hmmm... "L. Ron Hub-bar" :D ... there's a joke in there somewhere, but I'll leave that to the pros.

Cheers,
Brian Jackson

Chuck and Ken,

I learned in my very first journalism class that "Truth is a defense in libel cases". So I doubt you have anything to worry about.

Yep, Rob. I learned that too in the year of law school I attended a few years back. It is the perfect defense in an action of libel or slander.
