Scary Gary PPH sent me these the other day. Man, are these old.

1) Me (left) and the Poopster at his house in Dyer, IN. getting ready to leave for the PRA Convention in Frederick, OK. (1979?) Flew down in my Piper Cherokee 160B. We had Chris Laskey with us. We landed in Missouri for fuel, as we taxied to the pumps we all put on our "Groucho" glasses with noses and eyebrows. The lineboy was amazed.

I think the following were taken at an airshow where we exhibited and flew. Same vintage.

2) John Bunning, Dick Wunderlich, Frank Marchetti, Karen (Silas) Smith and Bob "the Viking" Berglund all of Chapter 18.

3) Dick Wunderlich in one of his many playfull moments

4) Frank and Gary

5) Dick & Gary. Dick's gyro and my gyro.

Tom,

Your post reminded me to look at some of my older pictures. This is not very old compared to yours. Year was 2000 with my kids riding in the local Christmas parade in my second RAF2000.

Please do post more pic's.

Parades are a great way to show off the sport and meet people. Our chapter has participated is several. We have been asked to lone gyros to an EAA chapter and a church for parades as well. Pictures will appear when I can scan them in. If get the slide scanner working...lookout ! I have pictures from most PRA conventions from 1975 and UP.

First try on the scanner of a few B&W pix I took at the '68 PRA Flyin. This is Dick Montgomery and his "Flying Anvil" gyro. He later sold his machine to someone who wanted a demo flyby to cinch the deal. But the gyro "broke up" during the flight, fatally injuring him. He died Nov. 4, 1968 according to my notes. Never did find out what happened.

I'm trying to figure out how to do multiple photo scans to save time, but don't have a flat-bed type of scanner. One of these daze.......
