Mrs G has been complaining for years about the discomfort for the passenger in the M16. My M16 is one of the first and still has the VPM cockpit to which the previous owner fitted an openable passenger screen that was really too small. I flew once from the back seat and had to agree with Mrs G (must be about the first time) that the turbulance was phenominal.
So I bought a sheet of 2mm Lexan. Actually it turned out to be macralon but since I was planning to build a proto screen I didn't care but would like to know if there is a significant difference.
The resulting screen can be seen in the attached photos, I wanted to cut the trailing edge to bring it down to just below the passengers shoulder to allow them to put their arm out but Mrs G was so happy with the result she refused to allow me to change anything. She doesn't even need a helmet to keep her hair from blowing about, however I now need her helmet because the turbulance around the driver has got worse.
The great thing now is I can fly up to 100 mph (probably nearer a true 90) and the passenger is still really comfortable.
