I am a new gyro pilot currently training at sea level in a modified RAF. My home is in Colorado. I am looking at buying a Barnett 540 or Sparrowhawk but wondering how they will perform at higher altitude.

Can anyone give me an idea of performance at altitude?

Any experiences you can share of flying any type gyros in thinnner air?

Other questions I forgot to ask in the first post:

What size/ brands of rotor blades and props do the knowledgable folks here recommend for high altitude?

Anyone out there with an RAF using a 2.5 Turbo?

Rob,

AAI has a dealer in Denver you could contact. He is flying an AAI mod RAF and has talked to folks about high altitude flying. His name is Karl Hofmann and his email is www.engines@verinet.com. His phone is 907-215-7307. I htink he will be of help.
