I was told that was the maximum sized prop that could be used on a stock Bensen/KB-2 frame. If you use a prop that size you'll need to use a 2:1 gear ratio in the reduction drive.
Yep.
Make the mast taller, all you do is open a can of worms.

on the rotax conversion of a standard bensen airframe with the short mast, how much clearance is there between the rotor blade and the prop blade with the stick back and the rotor back against the teter stop?

arrowprop told me on a rotax 503sc 2.58 to 1, they suggest 52"x42 wooden wide prop or what they call a paddle prop. for short runway.

Try it and see. Most people here have used the warp or IVO because of the ability to change the pitch and dial in the prop.

with the engine tilted a few degrees I have used a 54 inch prop on a bensen with no problem.
I've not had great luck with Arrowprop. Gsc and Tennessee props had better results. And like Scott said, adjustables are....adjustable.

Had a 503 and a 52'' three bladed Ivo 52'' and the Bensen was struggling with me at 200lbs.
Now have 4 blade Arplast with a 532 on the Bensen and got 320lbs of thrust and performs nicely
