GyroBee guys,
A gentleman I admired greatly on this forum has passed away today; Chuck Irby. No doubt if you've spent more than a day here you've stumbled upon one of his posts that reveal the kind and charming person he was. I've known about other gyro pilots whom have passed away recently, but Chuck's passing is really bothering me right now. I've come to consider him a friend through the exchanges on this forum, and feel great loss that I'll not have the opportunity to meet and chat with him.

I'm going to be sending flowers for his family once the funeral arrangements are publicized. It could be from all of us GyroBee guys. If you wish, post here and count yourself in. If anyone would like to make a small donation to the floral arrangement that's OK too. We'll get the nicest one available for what we can afford. I can contact flourists whom deliver to that region to see what kind of payment arrangements they need. More later. But at the very least, I'll be sending a bouquet I can afford, and it can be from all of us. Let me know of ideas. Thanks.

Count me in!

I had business dealings with Chuck as I was getting into gyros. He was a true gentleman thru-out the transaction. I spoke to him on the phone a few times and really enjoyed visiting with him.

I was looking forward to the day I could attend a fly-in with Chuck and get to know him better.

Hi Brian,
yep, count me in too. Let me know how best to wire you a contribution. Western Union?

John

ps. Am considering some sort of parking brake / throttle-starter interlock / warning tags on the 'bee.
