I had a small fuel leak in the front carburator on my Rotax 503, finally found a small crack in the float chamber. It's on the right in the attached picture. Just wondered if anyone else had seen anything like this. The crack is on the right side of the picture.

Allan,
Never heard of this before. It appears to be a flaw in the casting that wasn't picked up at "quality control".

Sounds like I'm not the only one with a manufacturing defect.

Alan,
Just bought a new 503, and after installation, found that one of my fuel bowls had two holes in it. The one hole is large enough that when you put an air nozzle on the inside, you can actually feel the airflow through the bowl a couple of inches away.
Fortunately, I was able to repair the holes enough to get my break-in done, and the dealer is replacing the bowl free of charge, even though I patched it up to get the break-in done.
See my thread on New Carb fiasco for the details. Sorry, no pictures.
