I dropped of my axle struts (x3, 1 sacrificial test piece) to get bent this morning. Commercial operation, leave with instructions and diagram, collect a week later. Will be most intrigued to see how the three different bends match up.

Yep... I'm doing it a bit backwards; got my paws on the round tubing and the angle first. The square stuff is breathtakingly expensive (US$17 / foot), so I'm ordering the mast/keel/tail pre-drilled from StarBee. Or at least I *will*, when they're back from ROC, and my Visa's recovered. :D

What sort of tools did you use for marking out?

Banaari,

Good going! Just be sure to coordinate your landing gear with the StarBee frame if you order them pre-drilled on the 2 X 2" tubing. They use a different gear arrangement than on Ralph's original design.

Nice to have another current builder in the GyroBee forum. BTW, I've bookmarked your builder's log site. It'll be interesting comparing notes.

Cheers,

Brian,
funny that, 'cause I've got *your* site bookmarked. More pictures, please!!
Thanks for the heads-up on StarBee, I believe they do two variants, "modified" with the narrower track and the sprung suspension; and the stock design. I've gone with wide-track standard; I think Ralph makes a cogent argument about roll-over angles.
See above question to Kevin re. marking out - tonight I get serious with drawing and cutting. Any advice appreciated.
