I came across an article that caused me to google prop balancing and this is one of the links. http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?t=18789&page=2
There has been at least one thread here that discussed prop and engine balancing and I'm just adding to the info collection. That thread can be found here. http://www.rotaryforum.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-21980.html
The discussion in the 1st link certainly makes a case for balancing rotating components on an aircraft so as to ensure maximum life from the components, air frame & etc. One thing that isn't unusual to have happen is cracking in a gyro's exhaust system. Maybe a balancing act would prevent some of that. And possibly the machine may give a smoother ride.
