View Full Version : mast/pylon design

WHY

On the home page under new pictures is the tandem Aircommand gyro of Gergyro. This mast/pylon structure is almost identical to the arrangement that I intend to use on my single place tractor, except the front tubes will go in front of the instrument panel and the 2x2 mast will be behind the seat.

I was wondering if anyone that has these Aircommand tandems could comment on the vibration of the front tubes or mast and how they like the set up.

In addition to the question above: Is there any advantage other than clearance issues that would justify a longer than designed mast length on a tractor gyro? Jim.

Hi Jim

I'm building a tractor and from all the research I have seen I could find no other reason to build a mast any longer other than clearance, you just don't want to risk clipping that tail or the ground.

Thanks, Tony. I thought the answer might be more common sense than math.........just had to ask. Jim.
