We had a power outage around here not long ago, from the same cause. No injuries then, either -- just no juice for a lot of people.

Gyro collisions with power lines typically do not have such happy endings. We've lost a few experienced gyro pilots to wires over the years. Watch for the poles or towers, as the lines are invisible in certain light and background conditions. Better yet, stay above power line level unless you have solid, recent knowledge of the area.
