Screw-In

I hate to bust you out like this, but I'm getting mixed signals.

ARE YOU GOING TO ROC OR WHAT?

From your spoken voice at SX Days is "No." In a post somewhere I read "It's maybe." I'm hoping this thread will yield a yes! I want you to go for several reasons:

1. Flying with you was great at SX Days and I would really like to do it again.

2. I have my radio working and need a "Radio Check."

3. Smores just wouldn't be the same without you :D

4. When drinking heavily after a long day of flying, I will need help getting to Ron's tent.

5. How can I give you a hard time about the "Tractor in the Pond" if you aint there?

Come on Chuck! Let's have some fun.

My plans are as follows:

1. Arrive thursday with "DaScrewDriver" and daughter in tow. Fly, fly, fly.
2. Arriange rides for Jenna Thusday and Friday. Fly, fly, fly.
3. Mrs. Screw will be arriving Friday for her ride and to collect Daughter. Fly, fly fly. Friday night: Drink drink drink & Disco!
5. Saturday, Fly fly fly. Saturday night: drink drink drink & Tango!
6. Sunday, Fly, packup, and go home.

Okay Screw, I found it! I will be there if at all possible. If I do make the 500 plus mile trip, I will be there early enough on Thursday for you and me to chase each other in little circles over the airport that afternoon before it's too dark. I do hope to be there.

Brent, I won't have the time to take it out of the car. If you want to ride back down here with me Sunday morning, providing I show up at ROC, then you could drive the car home with the engine in it.

How much you want for the Car Chuck? I need a beater to drive to the airport this winter.

Ron, my reply to Brent was too hasty. It soon dawned on me that the car was worth a lot more than just the engine. The dash is faded from sitting out in the weather. The left side mirror is just hanging on by the remote cable. There is front and side damage from hitting a deer, and it will need a lot of cleaning (from sitting out), which I know you're good at. It's a 95 Metro, 4 cyl automatic with ac, that probably needs charging. It drives out like it's supposed to, and only has 40 odd K miles. Maybe we need to ask John what it's worth. Wha da ya think, Ron?

$220-$400.

I think in this case the engine is worth more than the car to "Us." A car like this in the described condition would probably go through an auction "Absolute," and would bring around the figures I posted above. Keep in mind I have paid $20 for them too.

We could use the relatively low miles engine for other applications, so the car of course is worth more to us. If the owner would take the time to part out the car, I think he would be surprised at how much he could get out of it.

I've been looking for some time for some subaru's, but after what I'd have to pay for the car, plus pulling the engine and having it rebuilt for my needs, It's cheaper going through the people Groen Brothers go through for thier engines.

Even at Johns high price, plus the cost of me getting it, It would be more than I want to spend. I would do what he said and part it out. Could do alot better...

Oh well, never been to Mississippi before, was kinda looking forwards to going.

Hey Ron, you're still welcome here anytime. You know that. I even have a back porch, a place for you to smoke.

Re the engine: With only 40 odd K miles, I may choose to use it some day. Plus, the little car drives out like a new one. It just looks like crap!
