If you are just thinking about starting your gyro project to get flying by ROC....... Then I have got a tip for you that just might get you finished in time.

Next time you are in lowes or home depot pickup some bosch 11-14 tpi blades for your saw. (Jig) I was using the dewalt metal cutting blades and they cut slow (I tried them all) , I have gotten used to this, my saw would get hot, my hand tired.....

I was checking out the tool section of lowes tonight looking to get more blades. Dewalt did not have any to fit my bosch type jig saw so I found the bosch blades and started hunting for metal cutting type. They only had the cutting for thick metal up to 1/4 "
Well let me tell you the bosch blades cut thru thick plate like it was butter and leave a smooth surface. They say engineered for fast cuts in thick metal and they are not kidding. next time you are tooling around check out new bosch sawblades.

Back to work...

Automan, Will this still work as good even if I am not trying to get my gyro project finished before ROC? I might just like to cut metal quicker and cleaner, but wasn't sure if I would need a fly in deadline to make it happen? ;)

How is your ship coming along? Is she going to be a trailer queen again this year, or we going to get to go flying this time?

I like to use a 6ft hydraulic shear!

But I don't have one at the house.
