Todd,

Is there any way to expand the profile section on this forum? *There isn't enough information to really tell anything about the person.

Expand into:

Current ratings:
Current Aircraft:
Flying Since:
Contact phone numbers (optional)
Line of work
Position

Ect. *You get the idea. *Currently under profile all you get is name, location, handle.

What ya think?

All would be optional, but new folk don't know who is who. I wouldn't dare argue aerodynamics with Chuck B. because I know who he is and what he does for a living. But there may be some new folk looking for his advice and not know he is the one to ask.

Chuck B. is just one expample of many. Udi, Thumpdaddy, are other great examples of people who can guide, that new folks need to know who they are. Hense Profile.

MHO
Windy days is why you buy a gyro. So you can be up flying instead of wishing you were like the fixed wingers!

Wasn't my idea not to go fly today :-/ Borke my heart. I'd been waiting all week to go play.

Steven,

No one has to fill in all areas of the profile if they choose not too, but I'd like to know if I was chatting a serious subject with a 14 year old bookworm, someone who flys, a designer, or a CFI, and all in between.

We do get all kinds of folks in these forums and if this establishes a pecking order, then let the pecking begin. There is no harm in a pecking order.

If someone has a hangup on privacy and doesn't want people to know who they are or what they do(for whatever reason), fine. Just fill in the Name, Location, Handle. No problem.

Well, Well, Well,

Chicken hu 8)

We obviously dis-agree. I noticed under your post:
Sport Copter 912S Vortex. What is the adverage cost of an overhaul on your 912s and where could I get that done at?

I'm considering a 2 place for my next project and that particular engine is one that I'm considering. However the cost of overhaul is part of the consideration and your opinion is of value to me.

Please respond in this post or in the Engine section of this forum where I have posted questions about this engine.

I sure am glad you made that information available at the bottom of your signature, because otherwise I wouldn't have known to ask you.

Get It?
Great Idea John. I've seen a mod available which will allow it. I'll figure out how to make it work in the next few days.

Todd

Hi Todd,

The only thing I would change is that a persons user name or handle be in the "posted by" area. and that their Real name shows up in the signature line. Thus in the required info you have a block for User Name and Real Name. You could have a block labeled additional info for any one who want to share thier education levels or what they do, or what ever. I agree no pecking order is a good thing. keep up the good work. ;D

Todd, just a small nit to pick...
since this is a Rotorcraft site, not just gyros(I hope), could you make the profile entry say "Rotorcraft flight hours" rather than Gyro hours?
( Or have a seperate line for helicopter time and maybe one for fixed wing, ultralight, powered parachute, rocket pack, whatever)

Thanks

Al Hammer
