In other words, I had a hard time in finding out how to install a (Post New Thread) on this page and how to do it. :help: If U would. Send me to that INFO page. If not, then Please Creat One on "How To Do It" and what does each of the words do. U know what I mean. Thank U.

Why do people write loosing it when they mean losing it?
Inventer (also spelled wrong) - go to "forums" at the top of the page.
click on the forum you are interested in posting within.
Then on the top left of the page click on New Thread.
Now write your head off.

Perhaps it is his spell check.
I like to discuss politics. My spell checker suggests "sanity" every time I type "Hannity." Leave it to Gates!
Anyone can find mistakes in their favorite fish wrapper.
Anyway he got his point across.
Be forgiving and helpful. That counts too.

Ray I was forgiving and helpful I went through the steps needed. Everyone here seems to write loosing instead of losing.... spell checker wont catch it only knowing the difference will. That was a general rant not just for inventer. I had to write that somewhere and here was where it landed.
Some people don't notice that Hannity and Sanity are completely worlds apart.
Inventer please forgive me if you feel flamed.... you were not the target.

I went to Heath Grammar School which was in a large victorian building.
Above the double Oak entrance doors (teachers only of course) there was a large stone carving declaring the school name and motto. The stone mason had carved "Heath Grammer School" with the e in grammer overcarved with an a to correct the spelling.
None of us are pefect and we all make mistakes and its easy to mis-type something, but using the wrong word can make a big difference. For instance when reviewing CV's for engineers a few mistakes I allow for, but more than 2 or 3 spelling mistakes or big grammatical errors will end up with it thrown in the nearest trash bin. If they don't put the effort into getting a CV accurate how can they expect to work in an environment where attention to detail is essential.
That said spelling and Grammar on the forum makes little difference it is just annoying. Using the correct terms for PPO, PIO, cyclic, collective etc. are a lot more important.

The increasing use of incorrect speech, spelling and grammar in this country is very sad and alarming (as are many other things). Of course there have been and will always be mistakes. But make no mistake, things are getting worse much faster now (or maybe it's just me getting old).
Probably the worst example is "Where are you at?". This misuse used to be fairly rare, but is now quite common. I have heard it used by news anchors, and otherwise highly educated persons. It is, of course, obviously redundant and incorrect as you have already expressed the requested location by saying "Where are you?".
And I don't buy the "evolving language" theory on this and many other mistakes.
We used to write correctly by:
1. learning what was correct in the first place
2. using a dictionary when needed
3 proof reading our work (a lost art due to our increasing impatience)
Of course that antiquated task of using a dictionary is a little more time consuming, but also results in a better learning experience than using a spell checker which essentially lets the machine do the thinking (and is not always correct).
I'm only a music teacher, but I also grade writing papers. Those of you who do write well should go volunteer to grade language arts papers at your local middle or high school. You will come away nearly in tears.
The other one which I hate is the misuse of "which" when incorrectly used as a reference or after thought in the last part of a sentence. This example is very hard to explain, but those of you who do write well know exactly what I mean.
I'm sorry for not indenting my paragraphs. The software will not accept what is correct.
I apologize for the rant. I'm far from perfect, but it's a sore subject with me. I'd like to see things get better instead of worse.

I always get a kick out of people who are selling products ( like helicopter kits or parts ) or other services where you would expect a very smart, skilled, and educated person to be in charge.... yet the spelling is worst than my 7 year old sons.

Flyboy I quit reading and posting for quite a while after you and I got into it. My point isn't to attack you, but for you to know you turn people off to this forum when you make callous statements. I'm not thin skined, I just come to this forum to relax and enjoy sharing my excitement for the sport.

Russ if you mean me I apologize. I not only don't want that to happen but regret it. Sometimes I - l like others here - get passionate. I don't want to turn anyone off. Maybe in standing my ground I get too intense. Sometimes I read things here that make me nuts.... things that scream for a retort, but at the end of the day, if push came to shove, I believe we are all brothers - in spirit - and in gyro and would gather the wagons in a circle ultimately. I have already apologized to Inventer from the start, as he was not a target.
Tim yes you got me with that dont vs don't. I am a complete hypocrite. I have corrected it now lest I set a bad example to the youth of our world.
Next!

My parents used to say to me, "You only think as clearly yourself as you are able to express yourself to others". It's not all just about dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

I have met the most diverse set of aviators, in a gyro world that I only recently stumbled upon after a lifetime of aviation.
This huge all encompassing spread includes people from every part of the vast mix of our world, from every social step of our world, it very diversity it's own fascination and all drawn together by our common interest.
It is easy to get irritated by that which we are not used to, soothed by our common bond.
It's a fantastic place to mix, exchange ideas and expertise... and hey, just be human occasionally.

My HAT is off to all of those people who have my back in the spelling conserving over loosing it, statement. THANK U ALL from the INVENTER. I have too say something about it. (1) I was tired,my fingers are to big as to hitting keys (side by side or at the same time) on the computer keyboard. (2) I wanted to say "I was looooossing it" Instead of say "I was loosing it" That is how I wanted to say it "looooossing it" on purpose. lol I don't need to know how to spell the ENGLISH or INGLISH way, in order to read a tape-measure in order to build something. U understand me Resasi ! So everyone who stuck up for me, I thank U. By the way, I have GOD on my side, so I fear NO EVIL. I don't think that the whole Dictionary created by Webster INC., should "WE THE PEOPLE" should Follow the ways of the BRITISH/ENGLISH way they spelling. I would think that we come from USA and should be AMERICANS and Shoulden't we spell words like they sound. INVENTER not INVENTOR, see what I mean? WE AMERICANS have been brain washed for so long in other ways that We The People have not gotten our right-full-place. My father, Commander Chuck ,,,, had 35 yrs in the Navy and trained / home school us boys in many, many things. I was tested before my head injury at 120 IQ and speed read at 110 per min. type well at 90 w a min. That is all gone sence I got hurt. I had to teach myself OVER again. THat is not easy. Now I find something that keeps the stress down and allows me to have a challenge in life. Do U all know what I mean?? We Learn from our mistakes and so do I. I NEVER Judge U, until I try to put myself into your shoes, that is the only way that I can understand where U are coming from. In other words, "Judge Me Not, unless U Be Judge" Understand. My insident/accident was in 2001, it took me 4 yrs to get my **** together, including learning how to spell, I am still learning. My father tought us boys from A-T in the Dictionary in spelling, what each word means, and putting it into a sentence. I use to speed read (100 words per min.) and understand everything I had read at one time, now I am slower but I am trying, I DON'T GIVE UP ever. I have come a long way so far and I have a long way to go. SO Thank U all for sticking UP for me. Keep on flying.

Hmmm, took a little while to get back your reply on that one Inventer. Perhaps just gathering your thoughts :typing: but we are all still around, and hey Robert was just joshing anyway.:) He's a good guy really and means well, as do pretty well everyone here.
Really sorry to hear about your accident. One of our regular members Vance took a pretty bad high speed spill off a motor cycle and was brain damaged. He's one of our big favorites and very inspirational. Find some of his posts and follow some of the flights he does. He writes and posts some great pictures of where he goes.
Yes sometimes there's a bit of slanging and occasionally a ding dong, just part of the place we all love to come and hang out.
Besides when you are not face to face it's not hard to sometimes take things the wrong way, and, perhaps English may not be our first language.
Sometimes one can seriously get to wonder when you know it is someones first language and they really are mangling it up, but then I guess loving gyros, oh and helicopters isn't fussy about whether you are good at 'spressing' yourself.
Have fun here and enjoy. It is a great place.

Speaking about languages and spelling , my favorite is Birdy. He completely has his own language but you instantly understand what he is saying. I love it.
I would say his use of words borders on brilliance , but if I did that he might go start a school or something ..
