Am Loving all the pre-rotator info around here and yep, I want one too.
I'd like to see pro/con on one of those little "goped" type engines adapted to the rotor head (?) using a "v" belt drive/pulley system. Would likely want a controllable idler pulley for smooth engage/disengagements.
What would be the needed h/p to get up to desired speed (whatever that is, I still don't know yet??)
How critical is the weight issue? They are in the neighborhood of 6-12 pounds or so, give or take some.
