Some comments by John.....
The Rotor we use on the single seated is 24 feet
The Prerotator you can see installed on the mast. Elektric Motor with controler
and LiLion Batterie works fantastic. We go to 200 rpm and let it be engaged while
we speed up with full trottel. When the front weel likes to come off, we disengage
the Prerotator. So ist like a Buster System and the free wheeling clutch, is disangeging
automaticly from the Rotorsystem when the rotor is getting over its 300 rpm.
Same we use on the 2 seater but we use a hydraulic system with the same free wheeling
clutch. This is on the 4 Blades system we presantly using together with the new Engine
pack and Planatrey drive for the Prop. See drawing enclosed.

I know that there is a lot of Interst in the Weber Engine at present.
It is not as easy as it looks to incoparte this in to any Gyro. We have been working for a long time (more than 12 Month) to get this thing going.
The Weber Factory is next door to us and with a lot of help from them we are able to provide a working System. But we have about 3 more Month of work to do before we can offer any Product. I belive it will be a good Setup and in the end it will repace the Rotax in some areas.
The Redrive is designd by us and we run a 1800mm (72" Prop at top speed of 1920 rpm for low noise on it. We have a power output of 135 hp plus 15 Hp for short time if needed based on Water/Mathanol Injection.
Presently we have not found the right Prop for the setup, but i hope that we have solved this problem soon.
I can keep you updated if you like. I,m not shore at present if we will sell this setup to others, depends on the request we get for it.
The electic Boost Prerotator is only available for our single seated Cloud Dancer Gyro and not for sale as a individual component.
As for the Engine Pack, we will see what we can get out of it, and mybe we offer it to other Manufactures at a later date.
Thanks for putting my Gyro in to the Forum, and will be in touch.
John

Hi Friendly
What engine and redrive is that? Where can I get more information about it?
We have installed the Weber Engine together with a new designed Planatary Gear Drive made by us for this total new application. The Gear drive is cooled and lubricated by the Motor Oil and, via dry sump and the 2 oil Pumps of the engine. The setup gives us a central Trust Line, combined with a big Prop of 72" for low RPM and low Noise. Any more Questions, feel free tu ask.

Great job! John, What does weber think about their engine on an aircraft? are they OK with it?
What kind of modifications did you have to do to the engine? Thanks.

Hi scottessex
At first Weber did not like the Idea of putting that Engine in for aircraft use. Over the last year differend Company,s did test,s with that Engine and most of them came to the same result. The Engine is suiteble for Aircraft use. The last edition of a large Ultralight Magazin (Flügel) had 4 Pages printed about the testing,s and the result. Weber is now suporting the Company,s willing to put this engine to aircraft use. They also bulding a new production Plant to produce with 500 Employes that new Version MP 850 Engine in Lots of 10,000 Units per Production run.
We get the comlpeat Engine from Weber, not the Redrive. The very suportive supplying all needed Information, down to the last screw. We have now more than 300 hours flight time in pusher confiuration on this Engine, without the smallest problem so fahr. Can be seen also no youtube, if you intrested to see it, let me now and i will post the link for you.

Wow , just looked at the video in post #10. These guy's really know how to make a promotional video, and that section on the Weber engine is outstanding. Wouldn't it be great if our gyro's could be that quiet.
From the sound of the communications with Weber, it looks like this is going to be a real headache for Rotax. If this engine holds up well and the re-drive holds up well this will make a great experimental aircraft engine. Wishing Weber and all of their experimenters the best of luck, it's great to have a company work WITH YOU !!!!!!!!!!

Brent , I was going to bid, but I figured your or Scott would be bidding and I did not want to drive the price up. We will keep looking and have a Weber before too long.
