Times flies faster than I.

I cant believe that a year has gone by already. What surprises me is that I thought I had an extra week to get my stuff together but ROC is a week earlier that usual this year.

There have been a lot of people over the years that have helped me in my gyro endeavor. I plan on repaying them by finally getting my machine and myself flying, solo'd etc.

If any of you are lurking out there now is a great time to meet some great people and hook up with some great instructors.

Even if you think you might one day be interested in gyros but dont have the money or time right now, take a day off and meet the great people of pra chapter 13 and the PRA.

Learn as much as you can and take a flight with a professional flight instructor. You will have an excellent opportunity to fly a great machine and fly with a great instructor. That instructor is Maxie Wildes. He flies a new Air Command 2bl light weight trainer. This is a serious machine with all the upgrades and has been kept in top notch condition. I weigh 230 lbs and am 6'4" tall and his machine just fits. Lift and power is not a problem.

There will be other instructors there as well and its a great opportunity to make your dreams a reality and do it with some great people.

Maxie is my hero. I want to be just like him when I grow up. :)

BTW Maxie officially is a old fart as of today.

ROC 2004 is almost here ---- the Early Bird days are Wednesday and Thursday, October 6-7, 2004. The principal days are Friday and Saturday, October 8 & 9 with Sunday, October 10th being the wrap-up and leaving day. Of course, you may come before then, such as on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, October 3-5.
See http://pra13.com/roc_2003_pages.htm for fly-in information.

If you want to make a reservation for a space at ROC 2004 in Aiken, South Carolina, e-mail John Magnan (who wrote this post).
You don't have to reserve a spot --- there will be one for you when you come, but it may not be one that you would prefer --- so, if you want a reservation, you can look at the current fly-in camping location chart at:
http://jcmservices.net/ROC2004CampingLocation.PDF (55K)

Note that this is lower resolution for faster loading. I can e-mail you a higher resolution graphic individually if you want one.

You don't have to reserve a spot, but your prefered location won't be definitely held until payment.

The cost per night as well as the vendor charge is explained on the map: $12 a night with power, $7 with no power. $50 charge for vendors --- those selling anything. Reservations are not necessary, but then you get what's available when you come in. Note that the food vendor is next to the main tent this year.

You should send the check or money order, made out to PRA Chapter 13, to:
John Magnan
1616 Mosley Chapel Rd.
Wrens, Georgia 30833

Thanks!

Secretary
PRA Chapter 13 -- the Georgia-Carolina Rotorcraft Club

Ron, I appreciate you thinking of me. Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to make ROC this year. With all the hurricane caused postponments, I have been flying night and day lately, and now have a trip coming up.

I wish everybody a safe and enjoyable event.
