Is there any butterfly owners using the 6 gallon extended tank that mounts above the engine. If so do you have any photos of it.
Thanks
Scott

I believe this is it... From the Nov-Dec 2008 Rotorcraft Mag - front page. You can also see a video of it here - http://www.thebutterflyllc.com/video/monacrh/videos/freedom_extender_reserve_tank.wmv Not a butterfly owner (yet) but may very well be one in the not-too-distant future.

Thank You Terry,
I have a monarch and love it. I have a 7.5 gal. tank. I'm looking at my options to be able to hold more fuel to do longer cross country flights.

Scott,
The additional fuel tank in the covershot above looks like a Quicksilver root tube fuel tank. You can find them at Air-Tech in Reserve, La.

yes Scott, for that price, you should get two of them. If you don't fly that thing, the tank you have now, will do:whip::humble::tape: I am wrong for that!:hail::rapture::rapture:

Thanks Mike,
After looking at the photo I wonder how safe that is hanging over the engine and so close to the prop.
Mark I can always dream. It is also in you best interest because if I run out off fuel you will be under me. :^)

Scott,
I don't think I would mount the fuel above the engine like in the picture above.
If it were me I would either swap out the existing seat tank for one like Mark's, or I would add a pair of small cylindrical tanks mounted on the sides of your current seat tank.

Scott,
I have the twin external tanks that hold 5 Gallons each for my machine. That gives me the option to have up to 17 1/2 gallons if I want that much and they look sweet. They are very aerodynamic and keep the weight right at the center of gravity. I don't know of any option I like better.

you are a getter done fellow. I like the side tanks best or a small tank under tghe motor, but Neal is the designer, I would ask him.
Yes, I know I will be under you. You are a great gyro pilot. I always look forward to and enjoy our flights together. You encourage me "to go higher". can't wait to do a long cross country. :focus:
