Here is a picture of Keiren Dempsey and myself at the Pottstown-Limerick muni flyin on Sunday. The gyros(my RAF and a Magni) really got some attention. Chris took the picture. When I came in the Pottstown airspace, It reminded me of Oshkosh as far as the pattern. Planes were making long finals in a right hand pattern. I used my gyro privilage and flew a left hand pattern to stay away from all the faster traffic. A pilot in a expermental called me and said "hey gyro. Take a position in front of me . I will make a longer base to final to let you in." What a considerate man. I thanked him and made a hard left and pushed the stick forward to descend at 80. I landed right where you turn off into the grass. The guy behind me was right on my tail. We got to talk later and thanked him for his courtesy. He said he had a friend that had a gyro and had respect for what we fly.
I felt a little like Charles Lindberg when I landed. Kerien and Chriss (Shar and Tristen also, Chris's girlfriend and little girl I took for a ride a couple weeks ago.)were standing on the sidelines waveing and cheering. It felt good to have made it safely to the flyin and also to have friends like Chris and Keiren.
(I enhanced the picture to give you a old photo of Linberg effect)
