View Full Version : What parts can I make using 3/16ths 6061T6?? Have access to machine shop...
WooHoo!!! I can use the machine shop at work!!!! I can also get a 2'x2' sheet of the .190 6061T6 aluminum sheet from aircraft spruce for $38.16 plus the s/h. That is enough to make the cluster plates, the rotor head cheek plates (which I will be post another question about) and other plates if I can so thats why I'm asking what are any other plates on the bird that I can use the 3/16ths aluminum on?

You can make pretty much most of your plates for the bee out of that thicker material, but there will be a weight penalty. My suggestion is to read Ralph's plans in detail about 10 times. There's a lot to absorb, and many of the issues you've asked about in other posts are covered toward the end of the GyroBee documentation.

How about the lap belt end fittings?
The shock plate?
Seat plates?
Shoulder harness plate?
Tailwheel plates?
I'm driving everyone crazy I know...
Bump ... sorry I need to know!!!
