NEWS RELEASE

I have purchased the mold and rights to produce the acclaimed SnoBird seat tanks. Used as standard equipment by the leading gyroplane kit manufacturers.

SnoBird tanks are high quality, with approximately 1/4" consistant thickness throughout (yes, even the flat areas) this makes them capable of sucessfully accepting threaded fittings.

SnoBird seat tanks hold approximately 7.8 gallons and are the only seat tanks with a sump area, they use a modern ratcheting automotive gas cap.

Ultralight users, we have received approval to use these tanks if the vent line is attached at the 5 gallon point.

The tanks are available in a variety of colors including "see-through" translucent.

High quality seat cover are available as well. Seat covers can be custom made and also embroidered with your art work.

I'm am currently receiving shipments of tanks and materials from the previous owner.

Raw tank price, any color. (bare tank with six attachment nuts embedded) $150.00

These are great tanks. I have one on my Bensen. I like the sump and ratching cap.
I also like the fact that there is a web through the seat back, so that when you sit on it you won't squeeze fuel out of the top if the tank is full.
It's pretty comfotable too.

I was buying these seat tanks long before I had any idea that I would ever own the company. I am trying to arrange to have the seat covers made with memory foam that NASA developed for the astronaut's comfort (my butt is getting old) (insert no jokes about built in "comfort foam")

WOW, I need new seat covers big time.

Do they lean back like the 5gal style tanks or are they upright like the 8 gal tanks?

The seat tanks are the upright 7.8(?) gal tanks. I seem to remember that they fit the big Brock tanks as well. The maker of the covers that I use also used to make the covers for Air Command back in the Fetters era. I'll bet she still can make them.

Their web site shows their seat for $200, the seat cover for $85 and the Confer Foam seat cushion for, gulp, $250!

I suspect that Oregon Aero is providing Confer Foarm seat cushion. Oregon Aero has been getting a lot of press for their use of the 'memory foam' and other safety seat innovations.

I'm still unpacking and will take a few days to re-establish myself with the vendors, etc. Pictures and prices are close.
I have two Silver leatherette covers with black inserts at this time. More should be coming. I have translucent and black tanks at this time (I have two more unpacked of unknown color)

I will be talking with the seat cover maker tomorrow regarding the viscoelastic memory foam and if she can add it in. I have a price quote from the foam manufacturer and it won't be bad at all.
SPEAKING of foam........ I am close to testing fuel cell foam in the seat tanks. Same stuff NASCAR uses. It would add an extra degree of safety.

Are you going to get an Orange cover with a winged skull embroidered on it?
Just asking, cuz that would be cool.

Do you have any plans to make the 5 gallon lay back type seat tank ?

The price of the foam.... Sams club has the memory foam 2" thick - for queen and king sized beds. I think queen is 80 or so dollars - I just bought one last night. cut it in two or more pieces and way cheaper than the 250.00 if this helps... jtm

ps for our bed... so no - I don't have any odd size pieces.....

James, there may be more than one type of 'memory' foam. In any case McMaster-Carr has Confor Foam (the real stuff for the right stuff!) www.mcmaster.com

Just type in confor foam in the 'Find' box and you will get all kinds of info and firmness ratings for different uses plus their size/price page.

The most expensive piece (20" X 36" X 2") costs $106+. If a smaller/thinner piece would work then the price comes down considerably.

I do like the lay back much more. If only they came in 7 or 8 gal!
I will need covers for the 5 gal. type tank.

Hi Dean, I am sure there is copies and I am sure there also is stuff getting put out there now that they can make it in qty and demand is there. All I can say is that the whole 2" matress came in a small thin box. It took 2 hours for it to overcome the vaccum wrapping that it came in and it did have the memory to come all the way back to 2" thick queen size bed covering. It is nice stuff also fwiw. jtm

No Jonathan, the seat tank mold cost over $10k to produce and it wouldn't pay to compete with Marie and Doug for their share of the market.

I more often than not get inquiries about greater fuel capacity seat tanks. That probably won't happen either.

It will be a long time before the first rotomold is paid off.

Tom or anyone do you know the part number for the threaded fitting. I have this tank and would like to get away from the rubber fitting.

And do you if anyone bought the rights to the gyros he was selling?

Thank You

Hello Tom
I have my Brock seat tank on my Bensen which dried out and it starts to crack. Its been there for almost 20 years now. Do yours fit or have same configurations as the Brock?
Do you accept credit cards or I could send postal MO.
I wish to buy a black one. How much?

Thanks

Charles
