Great shots Greg. Thanks for adding them to Stan's shots.
It appears from Stan's shot of that airport that you had one beautiful grass strip to land on.

One reason we love the Shelbyville fly-in is that it has a long concrete runway and TWO excellent grass runways.
Other reasons are that the airport managers, Mike and Tracy, are very friendly and supportive of our gyros event, they make it great there. They provide all-you-can-eat breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and a large hangar to store the gyros over night. We also have a fun little dinner - pizza nights usually - on Saturday nights. The airport is built for fun flying, and we manage to do a lot of that.
One problem with being the photo ship at these events is that we don't get many pics of our ship. But, we have a lot of other good photos we are sending to the PRA mag - Stan has volunteered to provide an article or two on the event and the photo shoot we did on the three RED RAFs at Shelbyville. It was interesting that each of the three RAFs at Shelbyville were almost identicle RED ships, but they each had different models of HSs! We had some really fun gyro flying competition events too - spot landing, balloon bust, bomb drop and pylon races.
Ya'll come next year! - Greg

Greg, it sounds like you all had a great fly-in, and I know we all appreciate your report.
I'm kinda glad we didn't have any competition at the Bastrop fly-in though, as that would have just been too embarrassing for us newbies. However, we did have a really good get-together.
PS, Thanks for the invitation, Greg.
We'll have another get-together in November, then another in February. If it's too cold to fly up there, maybe some of you would like to pay us a visit and receive some of our good Southern Hospitality. You would all be welcome, I know.

Greg: I just want to thank you for all the time and effort that helped make this fly-in such a nice one. I am already looking forward to next years fly-in. It was nice to see all the different makes and models of gyros and there seem to be one in the air all the time.
The ASC competition that Tom Milton set up was also a big plus. Stuff like that is very fun to watch and to also participate in. It just shows more what these gyros can do.
Tom Milton also was spending a lot of time following close in his truck as Nick and Adam were building their skills taxiing their new gyrobee. Nick and Adam will be in this sport for life. You can just see their enthusiasm.
