Since we usually do a 4th of July thing, I just wanted to throw this out and see if anyone is interested in getting together at Wauchula for a July 4th get together.
I know it's hot as ........., but there's always a cool shower to cool off if you really need it. And even if we have to sit in front of a fan during mid day, it's still great to get together and see you guys.
I don't even have a gyro right now (I'm working on it) but it would still be nice to get together.
Go ahead and respond here if you are interested.
Rick,
I'm in!
Would love to see a good turnout for the Fourth of July.
We (my wife and I) missed Bensen Days this year so it would surely be great to see the folks we missed.
C'mon ya'll..........
Let's do it!

Thanks JR.
I guess since Steve M. is coming down for the 4th (That's MeGowan not Morris) we should put the word out for anyone that wants some training.
Since the only two people he's currently scheduled to work with have their own two seaters there in Wauchula, he told me that he will not bother to bring one of his. Of course that could change if a few other people decide to take advantage of him being in Wauchula. Let's put the word out for Steve.

Steve, I'll be there and would enjoy some more air time with you, but I don't know if that would justify bringing the Black. She's a fun rascal to fly though, almost as wild as that side by side Marchetti.

Steve I am going down too on the 4th if you could give me a couple of hours of training. (I am the guy you have talked to at Wauchula on Sunday after Bensen Days) I will ask some of my students see if they would come too. Let me know please if you are bringing the Black. Thank you in advance.

Sure had my share of it with an engine-out in the mines with the gators, hawks, mud, and bugs. Steve Boyle and Steve McGowan had an engine-out in Boyle's Sparrowhawk on the runway due to fuel tank sealant peeling off and stopping fuel flow. Dave H. and Jim Hay got stuck in the sand in the mine on their way to rescue me. Who says you can't have excitement with a minimal amount of people and gyros? Ain't life grand!!! I do believe the good Lord above has a special place in his heart for gyro pilots. God bless us ALL.

No. My community has a parade and picnic and we, Ed Lemoine and I, were asked to do a bit of a gyro demo before the parade. We rocked the sky.

With all the fun going on I realized there were just a few that showed up for the july 4th "Get together". And when I say a few, I mean a few. We had Rick, Brook, Steve and Steve,Bo, Debbie, Trez, Dave and JR. What happened to the Club? Is there still a Club? I was really looking forward to seeing everyone again. As I remember last year there was a really good turnout. What happened?

It does seem to be a weird time right now at the hangar.
Out of all of us, the only flying man/machine combinations on that weekend were Dave Hopkins, Brooke (at least part of the weekend) and JR.
Dave Seace - waiting on rebuilt engine
Rick - gyroless at the moment - in process of building new gyro
Kevin - involved in marriage plans
Greg - machine is in brooksville trying to be sold
Trez - still doing ground work
Steve Morris - gone for the season
Herman - gone for the season
Other members nearby but not at our hangar:
Jake - gyroless at the moment - building for others and trying to start his new business
Phil - gyroless at the moment (I think)
Scott - had family plans
Ernie - showed up with Chuck for a little while (unfortunately before I could get there)
Ed - family obligations and other plans for the 4th
Joe - other plans for the 4th
I know several others that had made other family plans for the 4th.
And it was just nasty hot!
The inactivity of so many is just a coincidence I believe. I suspect it will bounce back soon. I know I'll be flying every weekend as soon as I can get the new machine finished (Thanks Jake).
