Taking off vertically is not such a big problem. Bell did it 30 years ago. The problem is money. Join the two concepts and they work, but only for people with millions. I think I can do it much more cheaply, say, for the price of a good sports motor cycle, but I wonder if the people are ready for the necessary compromises, like the noise, fuel consumption etc.
