Is there a write up somewhere that takes you thru the whole gyrobee flying experience? From preflight to shutdown? I think it would be a very interesting read for us newbies.

KDOG, why don't you come up here to Vermont before winter kicks in and take an intro lesson in the Dominator? Experiencing the process is better than reading about it... at least until it gets really cold out, when the reverse is true.

Ask Dana if he minds your coming sometime when he's up here, too.

Hmmmm I do have 2 weeks of vacation left... now its just a matter of the cost. Whats an hour flight run these days?

Must be kinda high or else Doug wouldn't have emailed the price to him. But whatever the cost it is worth it. Your not going to learn to fly a gyro reading a book or a post off this forum. It could be done but why?

Sheesh, I was just trying to keep the "brief commercial messages" off line. It's $95 an hour, since you ask, which I am told is cheap these days.

As for the descent, the runway isn't as far down as it looks. For one thing, it's a really narrow private orchard strip. For another, the pic was taken by a pro photographer with a fancy zoom lens cranked to extreme wide-angle. But, yes, Kevin, gyros descend at a pretty steep angle, especially if there's any amount of wind (and there was that day). Read up on the distinction between ANGLE and RATE of descent, though, since that knowledge will come in handy later!
